🏟 REGIONAL EVENT STRUCTURE
Each regional event provides:
🏈 Competitive division play
📊 Performance-based ranking points
🎟 National qualification opportunities
📣 High-level tournament production and exposure
These tournaments form the official pathway to Nationals.
🔒 NATIONALS QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
To qualify for the APEX National Championships:
✅ Teams must compete in a minimum of 2 regional events
Even if a team wins a regional, they must still compete in at least one additional regional.
This ensures:
✔ Proper rankings
✔ Accurate skill-level placement
✔ Competitive integrity across the season
🏆 REGIONAL CHAMPION BIDS
Regional champions automatically qualify for Nationals.
Bid structure depends on division:
🔥 Top Gun Division
🏆 Full Nationals Bid
💪 Competitive Division
🏅 Half Nationals Bid
🚀 Open Division (when created)
🎟 Nationals Invitation
Regional champions must still meet the two-regional participation requirement.
⭐ AT-LARGE NATIONAL BIDS
Additional Nationals invitations will be awarded based on APEX rankings.
At-large bids will be given to teams in each skill division based on:
📊 Overall ranking
⚔️ Strength of competition
🥇 Tournament finishes
📈 Season-long performance
There are no participation bids.
Teams earn their spot through performance.
🏈 DIVISIONS — PLAY YOUR LEVEL
The APEX Invitational primarily operates with two competitive divisions.
🔥 Top Gun Division (A)
The highest level of competition.
Designed for:
• Elite travel programs
• Nationally competitive teams
• Top-tier athletes and organizations
💪 Competitive Division
Designed for strong tournament teams that want high-level but balanced competition.
This division includes developing programs and competitive regional teams.
🔀 Competitive Division Split (If Needed)
If there are enough teams registered in the Competitive division, the division may be split into two playoff tiers:
💪 Competitive (B Division)
🚀 Open (C Division)
This split would occur for playoff brackets at regionals and at the APEX National Championships.
This allows:
✔ Fair competition
✔ Proper championship opportunities
✔ Balanced playoff brackets
⬆ DIVISION ADVANCEMENT RULE
If a team moves up to a higher skill level:
⚠️ The team is permanently classified at that division.
This means:
✔ The team cannot move back down
✔ All athletes on that roster are marked at that skill level
✔ Those athletes cannot play down with another team
This protects division integrity and fair competition.
🔁 NATIONALS ROSTER PORTAL
Following the final regional event:
⏳ A 2-week roster portal window will open.
Teams may make roster adjustments during this period.
Portal Rules
📍 Added athletes must live within 75 miles of the team’s registered address
📊 Added athletes must qualify for the assigned skill level.
Examples:
🚫 Open teams cannot add Top Gun players
🚫 Competitive teams cannot add Top Gun-classified athletes
After the portal closes:
🔒 Rosters are locked for Nationals
